I would like to thank everyone for a great turn out at the First Annual Lighthouse Point Chili Cook Off benefitting Wishing Well.

A special thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and resources for such great cause, to all the businesses and individuals who sponsored the event by donating items to be auctioned off and everyone who participated in the Tennis and cook off.

To all the tennis members and Chili chefs for putting up with Faith’s harassment, but most of all a special thanks to Faith Olmstead from the LHP Tennis Center who worked so hard to make the event a success: YOU DID it Faith.

The event would not have been possible without the help of Cary Fernandez who worked for weeks doing all the graphics and gave up playing tennis and enjoying the cook off so she could finish the award plaques and sheets for the auction.  What a great effort Cary: We are indebted to you.

To the City of LHP and the Recreations Department for making the event possible, John Trudel, Gregg Moussette and the entire staff at the tennis center.

To Jean Sottini for coming up with the idea of making the event a Chili Cook Off and for donating her time and resources from Lou’s Subs.

Thanks to Kim Hill who came up with the name and logo for the Foundation in 2010 and has spent lot’s of time with input and ideas during the initial stages when the Foundation was formed.  Kim continues to help, donate and raise money:  Her boat “Lucky Girl” was the biggest fundraiser during the live auction and not only would she be making one Lucky Girl trip but she will be making two.  WELL DONE Kim.

To our DJ Rudy.  Our MC Steve Nouss.  To Bone Fish Mac’s for hosting our celebrity bartenders: Kim Hill, Denise Brown and Terry Oconnor.  All of you are celebrities in my book.  Thanks to the Flaming Greek for a great show.  To Steve and Sandy Sawer from the Yacht Club for hosting 20 players for the event.

To our Chili Cook Off judges Jayce Birch, Mayor Fred Schorr and Elvis (Gregg Moussette): Hope to see you all next year.

To Muddy Waters Restaurant for sponsoring the food and making sure we had more than just Chili (Love their wings). And last but not least, to Wendy for being supportive and putting up with me, my travels and crazy schedule ever since the Foundation was started.

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone. We all have helped Save Lives.

Sincerely,
Guillermo Guzman. Founder
