  • 884 million people in the world do not have access to clean water.
  • 1.6 million children die each year from waterborne diseases.
  • The Millennium Development Goal on child survival (MDG 4) will remain beyond our reach until diarrheal disease, poor sanitation and unsafe drinking water issues are addressed.

Township of Wallacedene - WWIF partners with local Non-Profit Organizations

  In late November 2010 WWIF visited the Township of Wallacedene in Cape Town, South Africa. WWIF founder Guillermo Guzman and Tony Marchesini of H2O International South Africa met with leaders of the Township to discuss WWIF’s involvement in the community.

US Navy to deliver Hydraid® Biosand Filters to South Africa

  WWIF sent a batch of Hydraid® Biosand filters to run several pilot operations in rural areas in South Africa. The filters were shipped aboard a US Navy ship under Project Handclasp, a humanitarian project designed to reach areas in need of supplies and aid from US companies.
